9/8  Personal Narrative Writing:  students will continue revising their rough drafts to include all six elements of Write Like a Pro – second drafts DUE Friday

9/9  SAT Vocabulary List 1 reTEST; second drafts of Personal Narrative DUE Tomorrow

9/10  Personal Narrative Writing:  students will do peer reviews of their personal narratives for Final Drafts DUE Monday; Greek Mythology Unit introduction – bring binder especially for Greek Mythology Monday

9/7  LTOTW:  antihero; Personal Narrative Writing:  students will review the qualities of a personal narrative along with a sensory questionnaire as they begin writing their first rough draft of their own personal narrative DUE Thursday

9/8  Personal Narrative Writing:  students will review notes over how to handle dialogue as they continue writing their first rough draft DUE Tomorrow

9/9  Personal Narrative Writing:  students will work through stations searching for the qualities of personal narrative writing in their own rough drafts

9/10  Reading Day:  students will spend time reading their self-selected novel in preparation for book talks

Freshman Orientation

Join us on Monday, August 9 from 8 – 11:30 a.m. for orientation and UIL Academics introduction.  You will be able to find your classrooms, meet your teachers, and get a feel for the building before the first day!  I’m looking forward to meeting you!

21-22 Supply List for Freshman English

Every freshman will need the following items with them in class everyday:

Binder or folder with brads and pockets for English class only, 2 composition books, notebook paper, 200 3×5 index cards, large key ring for holding cards together (these will be your vocab flashcards for all 4 years of high school), pens (any color AND red), and 3 highlighters of different colors

Honors students will also need a 3-ring binder for the Greek Mythology unit.
