10/28  MUGshot Monday editing exercise; SAT Vocabulary:  List 4 is posted in Google Classroom – Students will review list with flashcards DUE Friday and TEST 11/8; Grammar:  Sentence Structure – Students will sort sentences into simple or compound and identify subjects, verbs, and the correct way to create compound sentences; The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde – Students will briefly discuss chapter 1 and begin reading chapters 2 & 3, answering study questions as they go (DUE Tomorrow)

10/29  LTOTW:  epithet; Sentence Structure – Students will begin memorizing subordinating conjunctions, relative pronouns, and relative adverbs (QUIZ Friday) which introduce dependent clauses as they work to identify and create complex sentences; The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde – Students will briefly discuss chapters 2 & 3 and begin reading chapter 4, answering study questions as they go (DUE Tomorrow)

10/23  Think About it Thursday:  students will write a paragraph response in their journals DUE Today; Students will complete their background research of Robert Louis Stevenson and begin a reading and analysis of his poem “The Land of Storybooks” posted in Google Classroom – DUE Tomorrow

10/24  Robert Louis Stevenson:  Students will have a short time of group discussion over the poem “The Land of Storybooks,” begin an introduction to The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and go to the library to trade out their chromebook case as well as check out a new book for the second quarter Book Talk which will be December 16 & 17

10/25  Grammar:  Students will take notes over the 4 types of sentences as we begin a study of proper sentence structure; Robert Louis Stevenson:  As a class, we will read chapter 1 of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde answering study questions as we go; the chapter and questions are available in the Google Classroom
