Week 6: September 25 – 29

AP English Lit

9/25-26 – Literary Term of the Week: anthropomorphism; SAT Vocabulary List 2 will be posted in the Classroom – students are to write a sentence for each word where the reader will understand the definition of the word based on context; Students will continue presenting their Pilgrim Projects

9/27 – Wrap-up and Review of all Canterbury Tales projects in preparation for TEST on Friday.

9/28 – Grammar:  Sentence Fragments, Run-Ons, Comma Splices; Students will take notes on identifying errors in sentence construction in order to identify and edit such errors on their own.  Canterbury Tales TEST tomorrow.

Week 5: September 18 – 22

AP English Lit

9/18-20 – Students will work with their partner researching, compiling, and creating their lesson for “The Canterbury Tales” Pilgrim Project

9/21-22 – Students will present their Pilgrim Project as they teach the class their chosen tale

English IV

9/18 – Grammar Monday:  Sentence Structure – Students will review the 4 types of sentences, separate pre-constructed sentences into correct groupings, and then edit sentences for correct punctuation in creating various types of sentences.

9/19 – “The Canterbury Tales” – Students will take notes on an overview of the narrator and some of the pilgrims before they choose their pilgrim to study in-depth.

9/20-22 – “The Canterbury Tales” – Students will work with their partner researching, compiling, and creating their lesson to teach the class next week.

Week 4: September 11-15

AP English Lit

9/11 – Background Presentation on Geoffrey Chaucer and The Canterbury Tales; students will use Cornell Notes method for notetaking

9/12 – Overview of The Canterbury Tales Prologue and the Pilgrim Project

9/13 – Students will choose a partner and read the prologue together as they choose a pilgrim to research, study, and present

9/14 – Students will read their chosen pilgrim’s tale and begin work on the Pilgrim Project; SAT Vocabulary List 1 TEST tomorrow; Universal Screener tomorrow

9/15 – SAT Vocabulary List 1 TEST; Universal Screener

English IV

9/11 – Integrated Language Skills:  Students will use coordinating conjunctions to combine sentences for more effective flow in writing. pg 67

9/12 – Background Presentation on Geoffrey Chaucer; students will use Cornell Notes method for notetaking

9/13 – Overview of The Canterbury Tales Prologue and the Pilgrim Project

9/14 – Students will choose a partner and read the prologue together as they choose a pilgrim to research, study, and present; SAT Vocabulary List 1 TEST tomorrow; Universal Screener tomorrow
